HERE'S WHO'S IN OUR GALLERY

Jess Rose Flahr is a self-taught artist from Saskatoon, SK.

Working as a graphic designer with the Meewasin Valley Authority her love of art and nature collide! In the summer of 2024 Jess completed her largest piece yet, an 1100 square foot mural on the Meewasin building in downtown Saskatoon facing the beautiful South Saskatchewan River!

Jess’ art is an exploration of bold colours, contrast, texture and patterns. Using a variety of objects, from things found in nature to cardboard and bubble wrap, in order to add depth to each piece. Where colour, texture and pattern overlap is where the fun begins! There are various interest points in each piece depending on the viewers’ perspective with a hope of bringing feisty, energetic and positive vibes to all who take the time to immerse themselves! 

with a background in design, particularly with visual storytelling, mal often brings a curious, mixed media, madness sorta approach to her work and it tends to falls somewhere between order and experimentation. her work is layered, emotional, doesn’t follow any rule (creativity has no rules), always has a story, and is a glimpse into her weird little world. she doesn’t so much wear her heart on her sleeve but rather on the canvas (or whatever).
